Improved optical, electrical, and thermal properties of bio-inspired gelatin/SWCNT composite

In this study, we report a facile route to synthesize gelatin-based Single-Walled Carbon Nanotube (gelatin/SWCNT) nanocomposites using simple solution casting process and investigate the impact of SWCNT filler on structural, surface morphological, optical, electrical, thermal features. According Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy addition SWCNTs improves interaction between gelatin SWCNTs. The field emission scanning electron microscope images showed presence fillers increased with increment SWCNT. roughness samples caused by high interfacial interactions Gel nanocomposite’s optical bandgap was observed be reduced from 2.1 1.9 eV as varied 0% 0.5 vol. %. significantly boosted DC electrical conductivity prepared four orders magnitude. incorporation into matrix also improve nanocomposite's melting enthalpy degree crystallinity up 94.5%. gelatin/SWCNT were found decomposed completely in 4 days soil an open environment.
